Miyazaki Prefecture Announces Pokémon‑Supported Exhibition and Shinkansen Symposium
On November 20, Miyazaki Prefecture held a press conference to introduce upcoming events and regional initiatives.
Pokémon‑Supported Local Products Exhibition to Be Held in Miyazaki City
The Pokémon Company has been promoting regional revitalization through its “Pokémon Local Acts,” appointing specific Pokémon as ambassadors for 12 prefectures across Japan. Exeggutor, the Pokémon selected as Miyazaki's supporter, will take center stage in a special local products exhibition hosted by the Yamagataya department store.
In addition to showcasing Miyazaki-made goods, the event will feature shuttle buses and manhole covers decorated with Exeggutor. For visitors, a digital stamp rally and a grading event are also planned, offering interactive ways to enjoy the exhibition.
Symposium on the Higashi‑Kyushu Shinkansen to Be Held in January 2026
The prefectural government also announced that it will host a symposium in January 2026 to promote the development of the Higashi‑Kyushu Shinkansen. The proposed high‑speed rail line would connect Fukuoka and Kagoshima via Oita and Miyazaki, but construction has not yet begun.
Miyazaki Prefecture has been working to build public momentum for the project, emphasizing its potential benefits for regional growth. The upcoming symposium will focus on the positive impacts the Shinkansen could bring to Miyazaki and the wider Kyushu region.
