One Health
One Health is a holistic approach that recognizes the interdependence of human health, animal health, and ecosystem health. It emphasizes that these three domains should be protected together as a unified whole. This concept has been endorsed at major international forums, including the G7 Summit and COP15.
According to the World Health Organization (WHO), approximately 60% of emerging infectious diseases originate from animals. Moreover, ecosystems disrupted by human activity can accelerate the emergence and spread of such diseases. In light of this, many experts advocate for treating these three sectors—human, animal, and environmental health—as a single, integrated system under the One Health framework.
